Model Alison Burnett

I photographed my friend Alison Burnett today. Hot! She is just naturally beautiful. I should have tweeted some but we were so busy shooting that I figured I would just post some on the blog. These have like no editing as we just finished shooting like 15 minutes ago and picked a few shots we both liked. We skipped whole looks, so who knows what else is in here. And yes, we shot all these photos and styles in few hours. You can follow her on twitter @AliBurnett

She looks crazy here, but I like it! Everything was shots with my Canon 5D Mark II with my 85mm 1.2 lens. Some Broncolor lighting, some sunlight, some Canon Speedlight.

Makeup and Hair: AJ Will

Fashion Styling: Adrienne Weinfeld-Berg

Susana Monaco Fall 2011

I am finally posting the second half of my shoot for the Susana Monaco Fall 2011 campaign. The model is the adorable Mi Ling from Women Direct. We shot it in my studio in Manhattan. It was just a fun day. Here is a link to the first half that I posted a couple weeks ago.

Photo of the Day - Carly

Here is an old shot of mine that I always liked. It is model shot I did years ago for a beautiful model, Carly. It was taken in Brooklyn.

The shot is so old, I guess I shot it on an old Canon Rebel. The file info says ISO 100, 1/100sec at F5.6. I used on an external flash directly on the camera.

Rachel Hartzog - New York Models

I thought I would post one of my favorite models from New York Models, Rachel Hartzog. Some of you may know Rachel from the second season of Project Runway, and I posted 1 shot previously in my post on models I photographed from the show.

It is funny that when you take as many photo as I have, it is sometimes easier to find some of your work on the internet than in your archives. The first shot has been widely posted on the internet and even on my blog. The second shot, I believe, ran in a UK publication, but I never followed up to see a copy. The 3rd and 4th are first time postings. I don't think anyone but Rachel and her agent have seen them. The last photo I found on Youtube, but I guess it is buried too deep in my archives to find it here.

Shot on a Canon 5D with an 85mm 1.2 lens.

Thanks

More Svenja Parotat

I posted a photo of Svenja Parotat back on May 9th. She is a beautiful German model I photographed from Elite Models last year. I thought I would post a few more. You have seen her on the cover of Elle, Madame Figaro, New York Magazine, and Ads for Escada, La Perla and Clariol. There is a really sexy series of her from Ellen Von Unwerth.

There is no retouching on these, so you can tell just how naturally beautiful Svenja is. I think I shot it with my Canon 5D Mark II and my 85mm 1.2 lens.

Updating My Blog at 30,000 feet

With such a special post, one would think I would have some new extra special photos to post. ..not really. I am just so amazed that you can check the internet while on a plane at 30,000 feet that I wanted to post something (Thank you Virgin America for the WI FI and the free plane ticket! But no thanks to the turbulence that just hit. Very cool Airline though. The safety demonstration is the best I've seen).

I am off to LA to meet some industry contacts. It is all part of my award from Blurb's Photography.Book.Now competition that I got 1st Runner-up in last fall.

Here is a photo with an LA connection. Though shot in Brooklyn, it is the cover of DigitalPhotoPro Magazine some months back. They are Los Angeles based. See the entire post here.

My First Production - Chicago

The week before last I was in Chicago: the city where I put together my first complete photo production as an amateur. It was about a decade ago I guess. And the shoot wasn't really for anything, but it sure was a lot of work. I had to secure this old historical society home. A friend of my aunt let me use completely vintage outfits. I found a model, makeup and hair. It was a busy day and a tight schedule.

I shot these with a Hasselbad 500c with slide film (maybe Fuji Astia). The first shot is natural light coming through a tree with a medium size reflector. The second shot I believe is an white umbrella on a Calumet Travelite to appear like window light.

More Judith Bedard

I thought I would post some more Judith Bedard shots from before she was famous. This was our fist shoot together for a catalog. Very commercial and on location, but I think it shows just what a beautiful woman Judith is...without all the crazy editorial looks in much of her career.

Here is also a link to my last post which has my second shot with her for Susana Monaco.

Photo of the Day

Here is a shot from my first portfolio here is New York. I always loved the energy of this shot with my friend Kate. I still remember being up on my roof in Brooklyn.

You can see the film I shot with, Kodak TXP black and white film. I think it was rated at ISO 320. I am not sure the F-stop and shutter speed anymore, but I believe it shot with an old Hasselblad 500c and an 80mm lens. The photo is not retouched.

Thanks
