Red Daisy Featured In WWD Today!!

Here is my new Red Bubbles series. I wasn't quite ready to post yet as we just shot last week, but I got a few done especially for today's WWD (Women's Wear Daily). It ran in both the print version and online with a wonderful article by Karyn Monget. I included both below. I just photographed the series for a new luxury sports bra company, Red Daisy. Their website is launching in September and online sales will be available. Sport bras will start at $68 with $5 of every purchase going The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

The model is Jessica Ricardi at Elite, Makeup and Hair by Martha Friedlander. Shot on my Hasselblad H3D 39 megapixel with an 150mm lens and Broncolor lighting. Special thanks to Edgar Trinidad of Fineberg Publicity.

Jessica White Gets a Reality TV Show

I just read that Jessica White is going to have a reality TV show on Oxygen. The report comes through the New York Post's Page Six Magazine and the Huffington Post. I photographed Jessica White for Page Six Magazine a couple years ago. I realize I never scanned the Post's tearsheet, but here is a link to some of my favorites from the shoot.

Both articles mention her downtown fight. I always wonder about that...I don't know Jessica very well. But when I photographed her, she was just so easy going and had such a good nature. It was a funny story. Her agent and I decided to use the background seen below. That is right by my place. So rather than come to a big photo studio for the supermodel, she was coming to my apartment. Earlier that week we ripped out the stairs for some serious remodeling. They were sort of back in place for when Jessica arrived to walk over them for makeup/hair. She was so cool about it. Totally put the shoot at ease.

Shot with Canon and available daylight.

PDN - Photo District News Photo of the Day

I have the photo of the day on Photo District News Today. Kissing couples is part of a collaborative I took with my photographer friend, Rinze Van Brug. Published in Metropop Magazine, we shot it on location in the West Village in New York. This image was taken with available light and a tripod. You can see the rest of the series in an earlier blog post.

Photo District News is one of my favorite photography magazine, so it was cool for them to choose one of my images.

LIM Shoot with Amanda from Elite

I have been so busy lately that I am having a hard time posting every week on the blog. I am still at the studio now and have to retouch some more photos and then get back here in the morning. It will be a busy weekend with a very cool new editorial shoot and a big catalog the next day.

Here is a shoot I did with LIM College. We did 6 great looks today with different models and I might post some more if I get a chance.... but I cannot take anymore time out tonight, I really liked this one as it has a grunge feel with this crazy dress and the hand of a stylist who was holding it a moment earlier ....as the model jumps away. The model is Amanda from Elite. Very Cool.

Shot on my Canon 5D Mark II with an 85mm 1.2 lens. ISO 400, F4, 1/160 with a Canon Speedlight.

More Svenja Parotat

I posted a photo of Svenja Parotat back on May 9th. She is a beautiful German model I photographed from Elite Models last year. I thought I would post a few more. You have seen her on the cover of Elle, Madame Figaro, New York Magazine, and Ads for Escada, La Perla and Clariol. There is a really sexy series of her from Ellen Von Unwerth.

There is no retouching on these, so you can tell just how naturally beautiful Svenja is. I think I shot it with my Canon 5D Mark II and my 85mm 1.2 lens.

Photo of the Day - Svenja Parotat

I thought I would post a quick shot of a beautiful German model I photographed from Elite Models last year. This image is 100% un-retouched, so you can see Svenja is just naturally sexy. You have seen her on the cover of Elle, Madame Figaro, New York Magazine, and Ads for Escada, La Perla and Clariol. There is a really sexy series of her from Ellen Von Unwerth.

I used a Canon 5D Mark II with an 85mm 1.2 lens. I do not have my settings in front of me, but I expect it is around ISO 800 and F2.0. The only light is from the window behind and it bouncing around the room.

Fading Wonderland Editorial

This is a story from a few years back I shot with my photographer friend, Rinze Van Brug. It was for Aventura Magazine. Models were from Elite and you have seen the blond model, Shannon Rusbuldt, in another post on this blog. The other models are Maja and Joe.

Rinze also runs a different edit than the magazine and there is some background video on his blog.

Bishop of Seventh

I always really liked this shot I did for the clothing company Bishop of Seventh. The shoot is a couple years old, but I came across it today while looking for another shot. It was taken in Los Angeles. Check out their site. The clothes are great and their newest shoot looks cool (not mine though!).

The model is Michelle from Elite Models, LA. Natural light, shot with Hasselblad H3D and I think and 80mm lens.

Here is Audrey in Brooklyn.
