Jia Collection - Fall Winter 2012

Jia and I shot the Fall Winter 2012 Collection right before Fashion Week and it was such a killer to wait to get it up here.  I really love the model, Olga G @ Muse.  She was perfect for the 1920's feel.  And check out more on Jia Collection's website; great lines and everything is wearable in multiple ways.

Styled by Brandon Cannon and makeup and hair by Fumi.  Shot in my Manhattan studio with some of my antique cameras.  These are all cameras my grandfather used.  This series though was shot on a Canon 5D Mark II with my favorite 85mm 1.2 lens.  Broncolor Lighting.

Alison Burnet - New Hot Shoot!

I had a shoot with hot model Alison Burnett today.  It is hard to believe that is like the fourth time we worked together, but only the second time I got to decide what to create.  You can see the gorgeous results from the first one here.  Alison is one of my favorite muses.  She is just naturally very sensual.  You will see texture in the skin, moles, spots on the floor, and little "mistakes"  because I didn't retouch a thing.  I thought it was great to see her real beauty.

You can hire Alison through Basic Models in New York.  Makeup and Hair by Oz Rodriguez.  All photos today were taken on Canon 5D Mark II with mostly an 85mm 1.2 lens and the full length with a 24-70mm 2.8 lens.  The exposures and lighting varied a lot.  Studio shots were taken with Broncolor.

International Photography Awards - Honorable Mention

Sometimes you get Deja Vu. Back in 2008, I posted on my blog that I had very surprisingly been awarded an Honorable Mention in the IPA Awards months earlier and just missed it. Didn't know....and was very pleased to find out. It is huge competition with tens of thousands of entries from all over the world. Sponsored by AtEdge and many others, there are some truly amazing photos entered.

Well. in the immortal words of Britney Spears, "Oops, I did it again." I was sitting in the studio with a couple of my assistants when I got an email about whether I was submitting for the 2011 awards. I started thinking about 2010!!!!! For the third year in a row, The International Photography Awards (IPA) have bestowed on me an Honorable Mention. This time it is for my light painting series from Kee Magazine.

The story was shot in my studio with Hassleblad H3D 39 Megapixel tethered to my iMac. I believe I used a standard 8omm lens. ISO 100 with long exposures. The technique was done on camera using the old school technique of light painting. Minimal Photoshop.

Fashion Queen Magazine

I am excited that I just received a copy of editorial I photographed for Fashion Queen Magazine from Hong Kong and Taiwan. The magazine is oversized and has a great glossy feel that really shows the details of the Hasselblad H3D and its 39 Megapixels. This is my second editorial in a Hong Kong Magazine in the last year. The first was a vivid color story in Kee Magazine.
