My Ad for Blurb Books is Up!

It is no secret that I love Blurb books. I starting using their books from the first week I heard of the company 5 years ago. We have collaborated on a few projects together in the past. I was interviewed for their Take 5 blog. I did an exhibition with them for Agatha Ruiz De La Prada. In 2009, I was awarded by the judges 1st Runner-up in the commercial category for the Photography.Book.Now competition, and last year I gave a talk at the Blurb Pop-up Store.

The new news is that they are using 2 of my images in the new ad campaign!!!!! My friend just emailed me to let me know he saw it up on the creative site Behance.net. If you click there and it isn't up, refresh the page a few times as it cycles through. Here are some screen captures. Very cool. It is an ad that moves with progression. The photo below shows 4 of the progression next to each other.

Here is a closer version of just the ad in 4 parts next to each other!

Check out Blurb, and check out the 2011 Photography.Book.Now competition. My best advice: Make a Book Today! The campaign was conceived by advertising and design firm Duncan/Channon. They were fantastic to work with. Here is a link to the rest of the campaign, which looks amazing!! I also want to say a special thanks to Blurb Founder and CEO, Eileen Gittins and the Director of Marketing, Amanda Zweerink

While you are checking out Blurb to make yours, Buy Mine!!!

Many of you might be familiar with the original photos from the series which appeared in my Trapeze shoot for designer Susana Monaco. You can see the rest of the series here.

O2 Ireland Ad Campaign

I just got the first release of the campaign I shot with Vault49 for O2 Treats. O2 is a European Telecom giant. I expect we will see a lot more of this in different environments in Ireland. I will post more when I get them!!

Here is what Vault49 posted on their blog:

"O2 Ireland has been spiffing things up and at Brando’s request we added our two cents with some 3D goodness for their O2 Treats campaign. They gave us the brand message, the concept, a few elements to include and we brought the magic. Treats, indeed."

And the crowd goes wild for Vault49 & O2!

Value never looked so good

Vault49 rolls out the red carpet for O2.

Here are a few behind the scene shots of Vault49 building the 3D models.

Inside the magic factory

Attention to detail

Still life shots were done with Hasselblad H3D with Profoto and Broncolor lighting.

Jennifer Massaux in Black and White

I tried to post this on Twitter the other day during the shoot. One of the new things I am trying to do is take a camera phone shot of the back of the camera and tweet it right there on the spot. In this Photoshop world, it is kind of a cool insight, un-retouched, often with the camera settings right there on display.

However, yfrog removed this photo. I think it is super sexy, but not so in a way to get it removed. But here is anyway via Wordpress, tumblr and Twitter.

This is not straight off the camera. When the model photographed this shot on my computer screen with her iPhone, it added contrast and a haze. I thought it looked cool, so I added my own in Photoshop and Nik Color Efex. The model is the gorgeous Jennifer Massaux from Ford Models.

Susana Monaco Fall 2011 and my Directorial Debut

Here is my directorial debut for the new susana monaco fall 2011 catalog. I literally shot each look of this for only 1 minute after I shot the still photos. But the model, Li Ming, was the most amazing young woman. Most of what you see is only one take. But she does have a background in acting, Battlestar Gallactica! She is a Malaysian superstar with Women Direct in NYC. You have seen her in Harper's Bazaar, J Crew, and tons of fashion shows. She has an amazing look and such a vibrant personality.

I directed and shot the video and it was beautiful edited by Chris Asta, Wicked East Productions. Shot on a Canon 5D Mark II with an 85mm 1.2 lens.

Here is a link to the first half of the still photos.
